Meet Mark Dutton: Our New Advocate for Prison Law
We have some exciting news to share! John Black Solicitors has a new member on the team, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have him with us. Please join us in welcoming Mark Dutton LLB (Hons) as our newest Advocate.
Mark brings a wealth of experience and knowledge, having practiced Prison Law since 2010. He has extensive experience in representing clients concerning all aspects of Prison Law and is also a Prison Law Supervisor since 2017. Mark's work has focused on clients convicted of the most serious offences, including murder and high-level OCG matters. He has successfully represented many post-tariff IPP/lifer clients, helping them secure release against the professionals' involved recommendations.
Mark's experience in defending clients in adjudication proceedings is impressive. He has even succeeded in overturning a conviction for an inmate convicted of using opiates when he had consumed poppy-seeded bread in a judicial review. Mark has been police station accredited since 2001 and has extensive experience in representing clients in the police station for the most serious of offences. He also has many years of experience in successfully preparing serious Crown Court trials.
